UPDATE: New details in gunfire incident on 12th Street in Davenport

UPDATE: The Davenport Police Department have released new details on the incident on Perry Street this morning.

According to a news release, Davenport police, fire and Medic EMS were called to the 100 block of East 12th Street for a report of shots fired with a victim. When they arrived, officers found a man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital by Medic EMS for treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries. This does not appear to be a random act of violence, according to the release.

EARLIER: There is a heavy police presence in Davenport this morning after a report of an incident in the 1200 block of Perry Street a little after 4 a.m. today. The block has been sectioned off with crime scene tape and police and investigators were still on the scene at 11 a.m. One person was transported from the scene, Davenport Police told an Our Quad Cities News crew.
